Is the resort beach front?

Accepted Answer

As we are both a Resort and Marina, Valentines is waterfront but not beachfront as we are located on the harbour side of the island. Valentines does have a designated guest area complete with beach chairs and umbrellas just a short 10 minute walk from the main property. You'll find our entrance to the Pink Sand Beach at the cross of Clarence and Colebrook Streets. Take the stairs down to the beach where you'll see our yellow beach umbrellas immediately in front of you.

What's the best way to get to the resort?

Accepted Answer

We typically recommend you fly to either Nassau or ELH directly. If you fly through Nassau, you will need to arrange an additional flight or take the Bahamas Ferry to ELH. Entering The Bahamas via North Eleuthera is the most direct route. Once you arrive at ELH, you'll go through customs and collect your baggage. You'll then need to take a taxi to the island dock where you will be routed to a water taxi. Let the taxi and water taxi drivers know you're going to Valentines Resort on Harbour Island. Once you board the water taxi, ask the driver to take you directly to Valentines where you'll be greeted at our dock and sent to the office to check in. We look forward to welcoming you to Harbour Island! Please note the taxi ride is about 5 minutes, and the water taxi is about 10-15. Both cost $5-6 per person and all of The Bahamas accepts USD as well as BSD.

Do I need to reserve a Golf Cart for my stay?

Accepted Answer

We highly recommend reserving a cart for your stay if you plan to do any adventuring around the island or any off property exploring. Valentines is within easy walking distance to many of the shops, restaurants and sites in Dunmore Town, however can be a longer walk from some of the beachfront dining options at other resorts. If you're interested in spending plenty of time exploring all of Harbour Island during your stay or are travelling with little ones or less mobile guests, a Golf Cart is the way to go. Feel free to call the front desk for help booking a cart for your stay.

With two onsite restaurants, a coffee shop and room service available for the resort and marina, you have plenty of options to keep your taste buds entertained. The property also has a provisions and gift shop, Valentines Dive Center, a fitness center, conference and meeting space, pool pavilion and dedicated beach chairs for resort guests on The Pink Sand Beach.
